      WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

      Our client is a growing fintech startup headquartered in Toronto. The company provides financial content, tools, and insights through its digital platforms, serving a large and rapidly expanding global user base. With a strong focus on technology and innovation, they deliver market analysis and resources that help investors make informed decisions. The team is dynamic, collaborative, and passionate about building products that drive impact and growth in the financial services space.

      WHAT YOU'LL DO IN A DAY:

      • Develop and maintain the backend services and APIs that power our web application
      • Collaborate closely with the backend tech lead and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions
      • Participate in system design discussions to build a robust, serverless cloud architecture
      • Write clean, efficient code with a deep understanding of your core expertise
      • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to ensure smooth operation of the platform
      • Engage actively in team communication, contributing ideas and feedback to drive project progress
      • Support continuous improvement by staying current with industry trends and best practices

      WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE:

      • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or related field (or equivalent experience)
      • 5+ years of backend development (startup experience preferred)
      • Fluent Mandarin; proficient English
      • Strong JavaScript/Node.js skills; TypeScript a plus
      • Experience with cloud-native/serverless architectures
      • Solid API design (REST) and SQL database knowledge; other DB experience a bonus
      • Proven ability to design scalable, maintainable backend systems with deep expertise in at least one area
      • Strong communicator; collaborative team player with ability to drive projects forward
      • Interest/experience in frontend or mobile dev a plus
      • Full-time onsite in Toronto 
      • Bonus: Kubernetes or container orchestration experience
