    • A leading global consultancy is seeking an experienced and motivated Director to develop and lead its Toronto-based team and drive business growth across Canada, with a focus on the Ontario market. This role involves providing expert consultancy, dispute resolution, and commercial services within the construction and engineering industries. The Director will be instrumental in developing client relationships, leading complex claims, and shaping the firm’s strategic direction in Canada.

       You'll receive full support from the Country Director and global leadership, while taking the lead on expert assignments, team development, and client relationship building.

      Key Responsibilities

      • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of construction claims professionals.
      • Develop and maintain strong relationships in the construction and legal sectors to generate fee-earning work.
      • Lead and deliver expert work on live and retrospective disputes.
      • Prepare expert reports for adjudication, mediation, arbitration, and litigation (delay, disruption, quantum, duty of care, technical issues).
      • Provide verbal expert testimony as needed.
      • Advise clients on commercial strategy, contracts, scheduling, risk, and claims.
      • Represent the firm through presentations and industry events.
      • Step into Operational Director duties when required.
      • Engage with key industry organizations (e.g., AACE, SCL-NA, CIOB, CCA, CBA).

      Candidate Profile

      Essential:

      • Strong network and reputation in Ontario’s construction, engineering, or legal sectors.
      • Proven track record in winning and delivering construction dispute work in Canada.
      • Degree in Engineering or Architecture with eligibility for professional registration in Ontario.
      • Experience preparing expert reports for adjudication/arbitration/litigation.
      • Strong leadership, mentorship, and business development skills.
      • Excellent communication skills in English; French is an asset.
      • Confident presenter with public speaking experience.
      • Active involvement in Canadian construction industry associations.

      Preferred:

      • Experience as an expert witness with references and/or redacted reports.
      • Advanced qualifications (LLM, MBA, M.Eng, or similar).
      • PSP or CFCC certification (AACE International).
      • Experience on boards of construction-related organizations.
      • Published in peer-reviewed industry journals.
