    • A growing industrial services and inspection company is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to join its team in Toronto, ON. This role serves as an HR Business Partner for client groups across Canada, reporting to the Regional HR Manager based in Houston, TX. The position works closely with business leaders, managers, and employees to align HR strategies with business objectives, focusing on talent acquisition, employee relations, and compliance.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Drive the organizations HR Strategy by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices to ensure we attract and retain high quality skilled employees.
      • Provide policy and procedure guidance to employees and management.
      • Stay informed on Ontario and Alberta’s employment laws and regulatory changes to ensure 100% compliance.
      • Serve as lead for Canada’s benefit plans, including annual proposal analysis, offerings, and conducting employee rollout and educational meetings.
      • Support & lead the talent management processes to support organizational growth for client groups.
      • Manage employee relations concerns promptly, thoroughly, and with a sense of urgency.
      • Coach and educate client managers regarding employee relations to foster a positive and productive workplace that aligns with our client’s ‘Great Place to Work’ initiative.
      • Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource requirements, conducting investigations, and maintaining records.
      • Manage the recruitment process for the Canadian employee population to include job posting/job description creation, resume screening, interview and selection, reference and appropriate background checks, and preparation of offer documentation.
      • Manage onboarding and orientation sessions for new hires, as well as offboarding and exit interviews for departing employees.
      • Develop and sustain employee engagement to enhance satisfaction and retention.
      • Support & lead the annual performance management and goal setting processes, as well as quarterly performance pulse check meetings between managers & employees.
      • Manage region-wide work permits, work visas, SSN applications, including completing paperwork according to government and legal regulations and company policies.
      • Always cultivate, demonstrate, and represent the organization as a role model for professionalism.

       

      Required Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s degree (4-year college or university degree) in business, human resources, or related field.
      • Minimum 10 years’ experience supporting medium sized organizations, preferably in an energy, oil & gas, or industrial services Ontario business.
      • Proven progressively upward career path with experience in HR specialities (recruiting, talent management, succession planning, employee relations and investigations, organizational design, compensation, benefits, policy compliance, learning & development).
      • Ability to build relationships and foster trust with employees and management.
      • Outstanding leadership & analytical skills.
      • Demonstrated ability to gain consensus across diverse global teams to accomplish goals on time and with accuracy.
      • In-depth knowledge of employment laws and regulations, specifically in Ontario and Alberta.
      • Meticulous attention to detail, above average organizational skills, and track record of delivering high quality results.
      • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
      • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, analytical, and decision-making skills.
      • Demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, above average Excel skills and data analysis experience.
      • Proficiency in HR software and systems.
      • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
      • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

       

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Experience supporting USA and/or global employee population.
      • Change Management experience and/or certification.
      • CHRL – Certified Human Resources Leader certification.
      • Six Sigma Black Belt, Green Belt, or process improvement certification.
      • Learning and development, training experience and/or certifications.
      • Master’s degree.
