IT Manager (hybrid/preference for onsite work the majority of the time)
Our client is one of the very few stocking distributors of their products, looking to change the way their customers interact with the organization. With a warehouse of over 65,000 unique SKUs, they hold a highly competitive position in their marketplace.
Reporting to the Director of Shared Services, in this newly created role, as the IT Manger, you will bring best practice and advise the organization on the technology landscape, build IT strategies that align with organizational goals and oversee the organization's technology infrastructure and operations while assuming responsibility for ensuring the effectiveness, security, and reliability of the IT systems while delivering exceptional technical support and solutions.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop and implement IT strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Oversee IT projects from conception to completion, ensuring on time and on budget
- Develop & manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and resource optimization
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Lead, mentor, manage and motivate members of the IT Team and vendor relations
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals
- Provide a focal point and business analysis services to the organization
- Manage & optimize the organization's IT infrastructure, hardware and software
- Ensure system availability, performance, security and scalability
- Implement and enforce security measures to safeguard sensitive information
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards
- Implement proactive measures to minimize downtime and disruptions
- Perform due diligence on potential service providers from market
- Negotiate contracts and agreements to optimize cost and performance.
- Evaluate and manage relationships with IT vendors and service providers
- Provide technical support to end-users and resolve escalated issues
- Provide a timely response to organizational inquiries and requests for support
- Work with third party help-desk and external resources to correct issues.
What you bring to the table:
- 10+ years of experience in an IT focused role
- Stay Informed of industry trends/advancements to recommend innovative solutions
- Degree/Diploma in the field of IT/Computer Sciences or equivalent work experience
- Experience managing a small IT Team
- Working knowledge of ERP and Web platforms (Epicor, Magento, Shopify etc.)
- In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, security
- Project management certification (preferred)
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills
- Be results-oriented, resourceful, responsible, and autonomous
- Self-starter with a sense of accountability and the ability to take initiative and ownership
- High attention to detail
- Some basic coding/automation experience HTML, CSS
