Our Client, a leading Mortgage Commercial Lender in the GTA, is looking to hire a Senior Commercial Underwriter to join their team. Location: Onsite Toronto (Bay Street)
What you will do in a day:
- Evaluate and approve Loan Summary packages for various mortgage products, including land loans, construction loans, servicing loans, inventory loans, and term loans, ensuring they meet high-quality standards.
- Cultivate relationships with borrowers to gain a deep understanding of their requirements. Collaborate effectively with the origination department, mortgage investment group, and funding department to expedite transactions, provide excellent customer service, and meet funding deadlines.
- Coordinate and communicate with third-party stakeholders, such as investors, attorneys, and consultants, to facilitate transaction funding.
- Set personal goals and action plans to align with business objectives, demonstrating a commitment to taking on increased responsibility.
- Stay updated on industry changes across diverse sectors, identifying opportunities to enhance transaction growth and development by analyzing client and borrower needs, industry trends, and competitor offerings.
- Thoroughly analyze loan transactions using both qualitative and quantitative methods to create detailed Loan Summaries for investor approval, contributing to overall profitability.
- Ensure a seamless and exceptional customer experience throughout the underwriting, funding, and loan repayment processes.
What You Bring to The Team:
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or equivalent (mandatory).
- 1-2 years of real estate lending experience required, with a preference for Ontario experience.
- Senior roles require minimum 3-5 years of related real estate lending experience.
- Strong commitment to professional development
- Solid finance knowledge and a keen interest in Canadian Real Estate/Development.
- Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Independent, detailed oriented, dedicated to client service, and open to flexible hours and ongoing training.
