You will play a vital role in the day-to-day accounting operations and contribute to our financial close and reporting processes. This hands-on position involves a combination of routine tasks and collaborative efforts with other departments to deliver accurate and insightful financial reporting and analysis.

This role demands teamwork, both within the finance department and across all levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assume responsibility for assigned month-end accounting and reporting duties, including journal entry preparation, continuity schedule creation, and review and posting of accruals as needed.
- Proficiency in payroll processing, encompassing an understanding of payroll processing platforms such as ADP, reporting, journal posting, reconciliations, and accruals.
- Calculate, review, post, and report on employee Sales Incentive Plans (commissions).
- Organize data and optimize processes to enhance operational efficiency.
- Experience in Canadian and US sales tax preparation, analysis, and filing, with the ability to assist in sales tax audits when necessary.
- Participate in interim and year-end audits, collaborating with the Controller to provide required documents and schedules to auditors.
- Manage and reconcile intercompany transactions.
- Prepare precise, timely, and comprehensive balance sheet reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial statements. Familiarity with tools like Blackline (or similar applications) for reconciliations is advantageous.
- Conduct monthly account analysis and compare actual results to forecasts, assisting in data compilation for forecasting purposes.
- Proficient understanding and practical experience in IFRS accounting, particularly IFRS 16 and Lease Accounting.
- Prepare, analyze, and review financial statements (balance sheet and income statement) on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Deliver business intelligence, insights, and reports to leadership.
- Exceptional communication skills for effective interactions via email, telephone, and in-person meetings.
Qualifications for Success:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA designation (CA) with 3-5 years of full-cycle accounting experience, including journal entries, period-end closing, and reconciliation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills for interactions via email, telephone, and in-person meetings.
- Advanced MS Excel skills, and experience in database management/Power BI is a valuable asset.
- Collaborative, approachable, and a team player who collaborates effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Keen attention to detail, critical thinking, and the ability to meet deadlines while performing well under pressure.
- Proficiency in gathering data, establishing facts, drawing valid conclusions, and proposing solutions.
- Demonstrated experience with ERP systems and business intelligence software; familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains, BPC, Adaptive, or Netsuite's OpenAir is advantageous.
