The ideal Electronics Production Technician candidate has a solid electronics aptitude, loves a technical challenge, is self-motivated yet thrives in a team environment.
Responsibilities
- Building of wire harness and cable/connector assemblies
- Test, troubleshoot, repair, and modify electro-mechanical modules and PCB’s as per task requirements.
- Repair and replacement of electronic components (such as SMT) at PCB level
- Perform duties such as quality assurance, assembly and testing as required with a high level of quality.
- General electrical and mechanical assembly and dis-assembly.
- General wiring of equipment for new equipment production
- Crimping and soldering of wires from 10AWG to 30AWG.
- Capable of utilizing related equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, data loggers and surface mount soldering tooling
- Collaborate and cooperate with team members and assist others in the performance of their duties as needed.
- Generate reports and other required documents as needed.
- Document service actions by completing reports, logs, and forms.
- Organize and maintain lab facilities.
- Inventory control of shop consumables
Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years relevant professional experience
- Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical assembly drawings
- Solid understanding of electric circuits and electronics theory
- Knowledge of printed circuit manufacturing and commonly used components
- Hand soldering and crimping skills
- Strong hands-on skills, electro-mechanically inclined
- Follow, modify, and create technical procedures for production.
- Capability to work independently and complete multiple tasks on-time.
- Strong work ethic with focus on high quality and accurate output
- Ownership of work and responsibility of work integrity
- Competent using common hand tools
- Thrive in a cross-disciplinary team-based environment.
- Ability to work calmly under pressure and shift between tasks as priority dictates.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Windows and Office
Considered Assets
- Experience replacing components on PCBs to repair/refurbish
- Experience in Flex and Rigid Flex PCBs
- IPC certification or familiarity with IPC standards with respect to PCB repair
- Experience performing PCB repairs under microscope magnification
- Electronic circuits design
- Experience/knowledge of LiPo batteries (charging, maintenance, assembly and production)
Education
- College diploma or greater in Electronics/Electrical or Robotics program
