      The Opportunity 

      We’re searching for a Global R&D Director for our client. With two technology centers, this is an amazing opportunity to join an innovative international organization where your contributions will have an impact. Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, this role is a critical leadership position. You’ll be responsible for ensuring excellence in project delivery, working within the Technology organization, and partnering with the business to meet market demands. You will unify and foster a culture of sharing and communication, working toward delivery excellence, and with a goal of engaging the team and celebrating success.  

      Key Responsibilities

      • Execute the technology development roadmap to ensure delivery of projects on time and within budget
      • Act as liaison between internal business owners and the technology team for technological developments and engineering projects, translating business demands into technical development initiatives
      • Continuously interact with business owners to maintain awareness of regional demands
      • Develop business cases for R&D initiatives in conjunction with the business owners
      • Responsible for the development and implementation of process improvements within the department to increase efficiencies and when possible, reduce costs
      • Manage and improve the financial metrics of the business
      • Responsible for annual budgeting and cost control
      • Responsible for the staffing, training, development, and coaching of direct reports
      • Monitor status and report progress of all R&D projects to the technology steering team
      • Align demand with resources to ensure proper allocation to deliver on the roadmap
      • Support implementation and roll out of new and enhanced solutions developed, in partnership with the service line and operational organizations
      • Continually improve safety record by addressing both physical safety issues and employee safety awareness
      • Coordinate team managers as they determine proper allocation of resources
      • Cultivate co-development partnerships with external clients and technology partners
      • Provide input to determine tactical and strategic direction, supporting growth and future technological advances that will benefit the company
      • Develop the technology and product roadmaps
      • Create a positive and unified team culture

      Must Have:

      • Master’s degree in business/technical field, or equivalent experience
      • 5-7 years of experience managing high-tech technology development organizations
      • Results driven focus and experience delivering complex projects in a project-based environment
      • Able to define, drive and implement change
      • Track record of effectively leading a performance and outcomes-based business unit and teams
      • Excellence in organizational management with the ability to coach, manage, and develop high-performance teams
      • Experience managing budgets in the $5-10M range
      • Advanced, senior level interpersonal skills: highly effective communicator and relationship-builder
      • Willingness to work a flexible schedule with occasional travel as needed to support the business

      Nice to Have:

      • Project Management certification or advanced degree a plus
